------------------------------

Hello!

I have read the opinions of "How about accepting THE WRITE AND RUN AWAY type of posts" in Mr. Banana's thread from "The Discussion Forum of the Management of all SSS BBSs".
[url:http://www.seg.co.jp/cgi-bin/kb7.cgi?b=sss-admin&c=e&id=1061]

Very impressed.

Now I will write, and run away.

--------------------------------------------------
Today I will write about TV-drama "O-Oku".
Why I write on this drama? The story is not so good, there are many historical mistakes in this story, but some of the characters are attractive.

"O-Oku" means "The big inner room of Edo castle".
This is the story of the wives and concubines of Tokugawa Shogun family in the Edo period of Japan.

I try to introduce main characters of this drama.

Iemitsu Tokugawa : The third Shogun.
Lady Kasuga : The nurse of Iemitsu. She has the great power in O-Oku.
Lady Eyo : the mother of Iemitsu, the wife of the second Shogun.
Lady Man : a concubine of Iemitsu. She has a Christian lover in this drama.
(* This "Man" is not a male. "Man" is a popular name of girls in old time in Japan.")
Tama : The narrator of this drama. Now a waiting maid of Lady Man, later becomes Iemitsu's concubine, then her son becomes a shogun.
Lady Raku : A concubine of Iemitsu. She is now expecting a Shogun's baby.
Lady Natsu : A concubine of Iemitsu. She comes from a low rank family, and some of the O-Oku ladies look down on her. She is a very cute girl. I like her very much.

ところでこのドラマの時代考証っておかしくないですか?
In this drama, the ordinary police force raid the temple.
I think they cannot investigate temples or shrines.
They have no authority over the religious sites.
Only Jisha Bugyos can investigate them.
I watched following situatins in other Jidaigeki dramas many times :
A protagonist of a drama is a policeman of the Edo era.
When a criminal run away and evil monk protects him and hides him in the temple, our hero will have a big problem because he can not enter the temple and arrest the suspect.

Hi, marigold-san, I'm yamasina.

Hey, I like this kind of entries.
My wife loves the drama "O-oku" and I watch it with her sometimes.
It is funny.
But, the funniest point is the song by Southern All Stars, I think.

By the way, did you look up the technical terms about Edo-era with a dictionary?
Those are unfamilier for me.

I enjoyed your entry and hope the next. Thanks.
Bye-bye.
(You don't need to reply to this, off course.)

Hello yamasina-san.

〉Hey, I like this kind of entries.
Thank you.

〉My wife loves the drama "O-oku" and I watch it with her sometimes.
〉It is funny.
〉But, the funniest point is the song by Southern All Stars, I think.

Oh!! "funny" is the most suitable word for this drama.
I think the producer of this drama never intended to make a comedy, but the result is very funny.

〉By the way, did you look up the technical terms about Edo-era with a dictionary?
〉Those are unfamilier for me.

Yes, I looked up "Edo jidai" in Taishukan's Genius Waei Jiten, and the spelling of "concubine" in Genius Eiwa Jiten.
(I usually don't use dictionaries when I read English books because Sakai-sensei always says "don't use them".)

〉I enjoyed your entry and hope the next. Thanks.
〉Bye-bye.
〉(You don't need to reply to this, off course.)

I am very happy because now I know somewhere in this world someone read my writing.
Thank you very much.
