982. Would you share my joy?

お名前: ソレイユ

------------------------------

Hi there, I'm Soleil.
It's my first appearance in this board.

I finished reading a paperback "Kane and Abel" written by Jeffrey Archer.
It is a very long story that has over 170,000 words.
I needed around three months to done that.

I still can't catch the meaning a lot of words and phrases in the context.
However, anyway, I DID IT!

When I started TADOKU in July 2005, I felt hard to finish reading the books even as those were thin, short and easy.

Now I really believe these proverbs:
"The longest journey begins with a single step."
"A little at a time adds up to a lot."

Happy reading!

Welcome!

Well done!
My longest one that I have ever read is Oliver Twist. And it has 160,000
words and I took about six months for reading it.

〉I still can't catch the meaning a lot of words and phrases in the context.
〉However, anyway, I DID IT!
Yes. You did it.
And someday you may read it again if you want.
In fact we read a book again that we had read at our youngerhood.
And almost time we get different feeling from the last time.

〉When I started TADOKU in July 2005, I felt hard to finish reading
〉 the books even as those were thin, short and easy.

Yes. Those are true for reading fat books and finishing millions words.

〉Happy reading!
You too.

Hi Moring, this is Soleil.

Thank you so much for your encouraging message.
I feel ashamed to say something with English in my heart because I have an endless number of mistakes in my English.
However I will keep going with what I am doing!

Happy reading & writing &...anyhow, Happy everything else! ;-)

Good evening, Soleil. This is Cheeks.
This is also the first time for me to write here.
〉It's my first appearance in this board.

Actually, I was hesitated to do this for several stupid reasons but your comment above encouraged me to do this.
So....Thank you.

〉I finished reading a paperback "Kane and Abel" written by Jeffrey Archer.

Wow! Great news! It is also encouraging for I've been reading big fat book called'Inkheart'. I've finished more than half but I lost interests completely in spite of my passion to finish reading this book. Begining was so thrilling and exciting but....
According to the golden rule of ER, I'm supposed to give it up when it gets boring but I'm totally stuck here. I don't wanna give it up but I don't feel like reading it, either. What am I supposed to do in this case?

〉I still can't catch the meaning a lot of words and phrases in the context.

YES! YOU DID IT! And it doesn't matter how much you understand words and phrases as long as you can enjoy the story or even some parts of it like one chapter or some lines. It would be a bit problem if you can't enjoy the story because it bores you.

〉When I started TADOKU in July 2005, I felt hard to finish reading the books even as those were thin, short and easy.

Oh, yes! Tell me about it!!!

〉Now I really believe these proverbs:
〉"The longest journey begins with a single step."
〉"A little at a time adds up to a lot."

I like this one "Bird by Bird". It is actually a title of a book I liked.
Anyhow, thanks again for sharing this wonderful news!

〉Happy reading!
You,too.
