　　I was born two years ago, when Takoyaki started

　　the Extensive Reading.

　　It was August 28, 2002.

　　I'm still two years old. I'm very little.

　　My English may be wrong.

Dear Takoyaki II,

Happy birthday!

We are very much proud that many dadokists celebrate their
2nd year anniversary for starting Extensive Reading.

It might be five or six years ago when I started extensive
reading. Before having started extensive reading, my writing
ability is so poor. I can write letters in English more
fluently than five years ago. I believe every learners
imrove their ability of writing English through ER.

You may think I DIDN'T write much.
It is wrong. I COULDN'T write much.
It seems that I can improve my ability of writing English in these 6 months.

For the 6 months,
(1) I have read a lot of easy books repeatedly.
　　Most of these are SIRs. About 200 books. のべ about 500 books.
(2) I have listened, listened, listened English.
　　I have especially enjoyed the rhythm of English.
(3) I have written English.
　　I have “retold” the texts of books several times.

My English is still poor, I know.
But it is not matter.
Now I enjoy writing!

This HN “Takoyaki” comes from Mr.Takoyaki's old nickname.
When he was a junior high school student,
some of his friends called him “Takoyaki.”
You may ask why.
One of the rules of his school said,
“You boys! Your hair must be short. Very short. MARUBOUZU. Gahahahahhahaha.”
So his hair was very short. MARUBOUZU.
When someone has a very short hair on his head,
you can see the shape of his head very clearly.
The shape of Mr.Takoyaki's head was very round, beautifully round.
One day one of his friends said,
“Your head looks like a Takoyaki. I'm hungry. Very hungry. I want to eat you!”
Can you imagine how puzzled Mr.Takoyaki felt,
when his friend said so, stared at his head intensely, swallowed ツバ and made a sound “Gokyu”?
(Ahahahhahahahahahha)
