Can we change our luck?

Hi, this is Moring.
I want to tell you what happened on the way going back to Tokyo from my parents' house at Jan 7th.
For getting the JR train station I must get a bus. And there are two routes of bus.
One route bring me to JR station directly, but they are scheduled not so often.
Another route bring me the different train company's station, but they are scheduled many. If I get a bus on this route, I must walk ten minutes.

This time I had three heavy bags. so I want to get a bus that go to JR station directly.
When I got a bus stop, it past three minutes after scheduled time of the bus to JR station.
Few minutes later a bus to another station had came, and I got in this bus.
But after few bus stops had passed, I noticed a bus behind my bus. And that bus was the one to JR station. Maybe the bus delayed to their schedule.
I felt I'm unlucky.
And I hated this unlucky at the beginning of year.
I thought if I was on another bus, I would be lucky. Then I asked the bus driver if I changed bus to behind one without extra fee.

Guess what! I could change the bus to the other one without extra fee.
The driver of first bus agreed with me, because the other bus belayed on schedule.
Then I got off first bus without fee, and got in the bus behind first one.
Then I felt I'm lucky.

So I think we can change our luck.
Do you think so?

P.S. I had said I did not use any dictionary for my writing on this board. I still do not use any dictionary for this.
But I start using spell checker for my writing. Because even American who usually speak English use a spell checker for their writing, and I found a free spell checker on YAHOO!MAIL.
