A Wright & Wong MYSTERY 〜The Case of the Prank that Stank〜
/by Laura J. Burns and Melinda Metz / 40,000 words / YL 5 / ★★★★★

Orville Wright and Agatha Wong are seventh-grade at John Q. Adams Middle School.
They have been best friends since second grade.

Orville is a genius.
He has a condition called Asperger's syndrome
—that while on the outside he wore a don't-knock-no-one's-home face,
on the inside he had a Pentium 100 chip for a brain.

Agatha has a greater number of words than Orville has.
She has a sense of justice.
Orville always count on her.

Agatha wants to be popular with Orville. (He doesn't care at all.)
Jack, who is every seventh-grade girl's crush, is talking to Agatha!
A big football game will be held on Saturday.
He has a kickin' idea for our "prank".
He needs Orville's help for it because Orville is a genius, particularly in the sciences and math.

Orville makes a fantastic prank.
At the during halftime, their prank goes right!
Then goes wrong!
A fire that immediately followed their prank— a prank that involved shooting flames.
The field house and the playing field burned down.
Everyone think Agatha and Orville made the fire.
If nothing is done,
Agatha and Orville would be social outcasts... forever.
Can they prove to everyone that they are not responsible for this fire?
Can they find out who really did it?

I admire Agatha's character.
She has guts, and sensitivity.
She was in trouble. It was a huge trouble.
Everyone was getting mad at her, maybe even teachers.
Agatha's crunch, Jack, too.
But that didn't get her down.

I was very shy when at junior high.
If I were in Agatha's situation, I guess I can't say anything
even in my side I know that it is wrong for everyone to blame me without any proof.

She believed strongly her best friend.
He was always in her side. And so she.
They are a good team.

I felt a bit sorrow for that Orville's line.
—Sometimes it seemed like Agatha could read his mind. Orville knew he could always count on her.
For the million time, he wished he knew when it was right to smile.
If only he could show her how happy he was to be her friend.—
Orville...You are ok. I hug you...

Anyway, I'm looking for their next case.

Hi, Hamako. This is Anya. Hello! Hou are you?

I read your review interestingly.
I love children's books! you know.
I've never heard this series, so I checked it out on Amazon soon.
I was slightly shocked at first, for the picture of the front cover is a little bit grotesque.
What happened to that boy wearing stuff like a shark over his head?
I wonder if that scene is somewhere in the story.
Umm... I want to know, so I have to read this book to know the truth...

Both characters that you mentioned, Orville and Agatha fascinates me, especially Orville.
I've heard the name of the condition Orvelle has.
If I'm correct, I guess it is the same condition that the main character has in "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" written by Mark Haddon.
The book was interesting story, so the book you recommended is supposed to be interesting, too!

Thank you for sharing a book you read!
I'll read the book someday☆
Then, bye!

Hi, Anya.
Thank you for your kind message!

〉I read your review interestingly.

Thanks a lot.

〉I love children's books! you know.
〉I've never heard this series, so I checked it out on Amazon soon.
〉I was slightly shocked at first, for the picture of the front cover is a little bit grotesque.

Aha.

〉What happened to that boy wearing stuff like a shark over his head?
〉I wonder if that scene is somewhere in the story.

Don't worry.
That boy has nothing mean in the story.
In fact, no one was wearing that stuff.
I don't know why the illustrator described it.
Perhaps the authors wanted an impact or just make a joke???

〉Umm... I want to know, so I have to read this book to know the truth...

Oh, sorry... I already explained... Please forgive me.
Anyway, this story has light touch.
You may get pounding heart and joy with their job.

〉Both characters that you mentioned, Orville and Agatha fascinates me, especially Orville.
〉I've heard the name of the condition Orvelle has.
〉If I'm correct, I guess it is the same condition that the main character has in "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" written by Mark Haddon.
〉The book was interesting story, so the book you recommended is supposed to be interesting, too!

I checked it out on Amazon, too.
What a pity.
A fork stabbed in the dog.
Is it an interesting story?
Ok, I'll read it someday.
Thanks a lot.

〉Thank you for sharing a book you read!
〉I'll read the book someday☆
〉Then, bye!

Bye-bye!

Hi, Hamako. Are you all right now?
I've read “A WEAK WEEK”. You really had a hard week!
Reading that story, I felt nerve and relived to know your younger brother was OK.
Your older brother is brave and warm-hearted boy!
Give a hug each boy, of course to your little girl too, from me!

〉Don't worry.
〉That boy has nothing mean in the story.

〉I don't know why the illustrator described it.
〉Perhaps the authors wanted an impact or just make a joke???

Oh, is that so?
Somehow a little bit regret(;;) I'm looking forward to it.
But it's glad to know first!

〉Oh, sorry... I already explained... Please forgive me.
〉Anyway, this story has light touch.
〉You may get pounding heart and joy with their job.

Never mind♪
Ok, I'll expect their job.

〉I checked it out on Amazon, too.
〉What a pity.
〉A fork stabbed in the dog.
〉Is it an interesting story?
〉Ok, I'll read it someday.
〉Thanks a lot.

Your Welcome. I hope you'll like it.
For your information: the book is YL 4.1 65.000 words.
See you again(^^)/"
