800万語通過しました

■800万語を通過しました
　10月4日に800万語を通過しました。通過本は George's Secret Key to the Universe 
(Lucy & Stephen Hawking) でした。今回の100万語で読んだ本は78冊で、700万語を通過
した8月11日からは2カ月弱でした。多読開始から読んだ本は延べ775冊となりました。

■児童書にはまりました
　700万語通過時にたまたま地元の図書館で見つけた There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom 
をとっても楽しく読んで以来、同じような児童書を読みたくなったので、Luis Sachar 
や Roald Dahl などの著者に注目して探したところ、市内の図書館で10冊ほど見付けたの
で読みました。GR とは違った面白さや充実感を味わえました。更に探してみると、県内
の図書で A Series of Unfortunate Events Series を見つけ、県外では A to Z Mysteries
を取り寄せて読むことができました。次は、A Series of Unfortunate Events Series の
残りの3冊と、図書館から借りる目途がついている、Captain Underpants Series, Marvin 
Redpost, The Zack Files, Deltora Quest, Heartland などを読もうと思っています。

　これまでは CER, MMR, PGR, OBW などの GR が大半を占めていましたが、これらは児童
書や易しいティーン向けの本も交えて行きたいと思っています。

■GRなど易しい本の音読は継続しています
　児童書の中でもややレベルの高いものやティーン向けは気分次第ですが、GR などの易し
いものはできるだけ音読するようにしています。恐らく今回の100万語の内50万語程度を
音読していたように思います。

　「自分流の発音・強弱・抑揚になっているのでは？」という心配が常に付きまとっては
いるのですが、今回の100万語で読んだ PGR に付属していた CD (16冊分、合計6時間余) 
を参考にしつつ、音読を進めています。

■引き続き「やさしくたくさん、そして、ゆっくり」で
　多読3年目の方針「やさしくたくさん、そして、ゆっくり」を念頭に置いて、GR などは
じっくり味わうように読むようにしていますが、一方、その内容やストーリーの続きが気
になって仕方がない本に出会った場合には、速度を意識せず好きなペースで読んでいます。
