Happy New Year! This is Ken. I'm happy to be here again!
I attended "Time Magazine" reading club yesterday. Today I report this.
Last December, I noticed there was such a club in my neighbourhood when I read a local paper.
I called the representative to get some details.
This club has about 20 members and they focused on Time-reading. They gather every Saturday night form 6pm to 8pm.
He said I could look once for free. So I attended yesterday to look their activity.
Main activity was to translate some articles form Time-magazine.
Several people were assighed some articles. One of them read the article
and translated it sentence by sentence.
After few paragraphs, people talked about the translation or
questioned about some difficult sentences or talked about their opinions.
Sometimes I heard grammatical words, such as "that clause" or "noun phrase" and so on.
It seemed like old highschool lectuers.
I felt sometimes my irritating about talking detailes.
But I thought, knowing the difference between grasp the contents and total comprehension is not so bad for me.
Because sometimes I make fatal mistakes by skipping some details.
So I decided I would attend that club 3 months. Because the membership is 3000 yen for 3 months. It's cheap!
I know this way of reading is completely differ to TADOKU.
But I think 2 hours concenteate reading in a week is a small thing for me.
I would like to report about this if I could continue 3 months.
Anyway, happy TADOKU reading 2008!
